Hooters and Legendary Golfer John Daly Extend Winning Partnership for Two More Years
The world’s best pairing is going another round. Hooters is teeing it up for two more years with one of the most popular golfers and personalities, John Daly. The deal extends the brand’s long-time partnership with the two-time major champion, with further options to renew.
“We love John’s ability to keep on swinging and perpetually keep his eye on the win,” said Bruce Skala, Hooters chief marketing officer. “His larger-than-life personality and authenticity makes him the perfect fit for Hooters. We are ecstatic our renewed pairing with John brings Hooters fans and guests another round of fun.”
As Hooters writes the next chapter in its iconic playbook, it’s teaming up with golf’s ultimate personality to drive its brand forward. Daly will promote the world-famous Hooters brand through various marketing activities, including social media and other digital channels, in-restaurant appearances and even inspiring seasonal selections on the food and beverage menu. The partnership will keep Daly sporting the brand coast to coast—decked out in Hooters gear with a custom orange Hooters bag on the golf course.
“No matter how I play on the golf course, I always enjoy having a round with wings at Hooters,” Daly said. “It’s a place that feels like family, and I’m proud to keep reppin’ a brand that knows how to grip it, rip it, and have a good time. We’ve got wings, cold drinks—including a few Good Boy Vodka cocktails with my name on ’em—and the best fans in the world. Let’s go another round.”
Known for his massive drives off the tee, Daly made headlines on the golf course winning the 1991 PGA Championship as a ninth alternate before earning the PGA Tour Rookie of the Year award. He followed up with a victory at the 1995 Open Championship in St. Andrews and became the first PGA Tour player to average more than 300 yards per drive in a season. Off the course, Daly is just as legendary—releasing country music, designing golf courses, launching his own line of Good Boy Vodka canned cocktails, and giving back through his Heart of a Lion foundation, which supports veterans, first responders and children.
